Some people aren’t ready for the pressures of VH1’s Couples Therapy, but it was nothing compared to what Creed lead singer Scott Stapp and wife Jaclyn Stapp had already been through.

The couple of nine years had already opened up to the public about their struggles — namely Scott’s bipolar disorder and addiction — a year prior to joining the relationship show. And as Jaclyn told us recently when she stopped by the Wetpaint offices, that made all the difference.
“When you start to get honest and talk about issues most marriages don’t talk about… everything comes to the surface,” the former Miss New York USA explains. “There’s a sense of honesty, it’s authentic.”
